Anthropologie on the Cheap

A curtsy just felt necessary in this skirt.

Skirt: Anthropologie via a consignment shop near campus
T-shirt and shoes: LOFT
Cardigan: Target
Necklace and bracelet: Inherited from grandmother

I wrote yesterday that I have an obsession with big, swirly skirts. Turns out I also have an obsession with Anthropologie. Actually, I have an obsession with their catalogue, because I can't actually afford to shop there. My friend Debra gets the catalogue and whenever I visit her we look at it together and cry.

Fortunately for me, there's a consignment shop near campus that sells surplus from Anthropologie and J. Crew. The marked-down prices are usually considerably more reasonable than the original retail prices, but still a little high for me, but yesterday they were having a 50% off everything sale. Yay! So I got this skirt for $24. $24! For comparison, check out the prices of the skirts on Anthropologie's website. And I love it. I love how full it is, I love the checkered fabric, I love the woven flowers. Love. It. I also got a pair of Anthro pants for $14, which I plan to wear tomorrow. Yay! Yay consignment shop!

  1. Wow! You're so lucky! This skirt is amazing! I go to Anthropologie to gawk. Sometimes, I resolve to buy something but when it comes down to it, it's hard to part with a $100++ just for a skirt in XS... What is this consignment store? Wow.

  2. Thanks! I know, Anthropologie's prices are ridiculous. The consignment store is just a local place. I don't think they even have a website. One of the perks of living in a college town!
